Our Imports

Here at Reptile Empress®, we say imports are worth it.

I have had varying success from 4 weeks to 6 months taming wild-caught reptiles.  First, I want to talk about the stigma of imports.  The majority of the people that say imports aren’t worth being kept as a pet have experienced or seen someone buy a dying import from a big corporate company.  The big companies that sell imports don’t care to treat their imports because they price them dirt cheap.  If you do grab an import from a personable importer that isn’t a huge corporate, your chances of getting a pet that lived past two months isn’t an issue.  Imported reptiles shouldn’t be the issue; the big company that doesn’t care about them should be.  All the imports I keep as my pets are just as sweet as my captive-bred ones.  One of my WCs is even more cuddly than any of my CBS.  They tame down to what you would expect from a CB with proper methods and patience.

What happens when we get imports?

We want to change the name of imports by giving them proper care, including one month’s stay at our facility before shipping the reptiles out.  These are the procedures we take before you buy your pet from us.

  • 4-6 week stay at our facility
  • Panacur treatments
  • Heavily monitored feeding
  • 3x day water bowl clean outs
  • Socialize them with our stress-free tactics

If you’re a wholesaler buying our imports:

As a wholesaler, you get to customize the extent of our care.  You can opt-out of Panacur treatments if you have your supply and know-how to administrate, and you can take them earlier than regular customers.

  • One week stay at our facility
